Tiny's Life Began in a Puppy Mill...

Less than a week old when he was seized from a local puppy mill, Humane League staff questioned whether or not the newborn puppy would even survive.  He faced what seemed like insurmountable challenges-both of his hind feet had been chewed off by his mother, who was most likely reacting to the stress and overcrowding that is common in puppy mills, and infection had set in.  Although she didn’t think there was anyway that this puppy could possibly survive, Humane League Police Officer, Danielle Ball, still felt that she had to try to save him.

Now He Literally Stands for the Fight Against Animal Cruelty...

“Once I started bottle feeding him, I felt like I became his mom.  I gave him antibiotics through a dropper to treat the infection in.  I just called him “Tiny” in the beginning; I didn’t want to actually name him and get too attached because I didn’t think he was going to make it. As the days went by he surprised everyone and kept getting stronger.  Tiny’s shiny personality and his love for us were too much to lose and we adopted him.  Although Tiny is missing his back feet, he has very few limitations.  Sometimes it’s hard for him to walk on the driveway, so then he pulls his back legs up off the ground and walks on just his two front paws.  He runs and plays with our two labs and pitbull and although his name is “Tiny” he is definitely the boss!  I love all of my animals but Tiny has a special place in my heart because I personally saved him from a horrible situation.  Tiny motivates me everyday to keep up the fight against animal cruelty.”  Humane League Police Officer Danielle Ball, owned by Tiny

Tiny, hours after first arriving at the shelter.

You can see where his back feet had been

chewed off.

Less then a week old, Tiny had to be fed

with a bottle every two hours, around the

clock.

Tiny's back legs took months to heal and

he had to be given antibiotics through an

eye dropper.

Tiny has come a long way and is

now a happy and healthy dog.
