Thanks for a wonderful event!
The Humane League of Lancaster County held its 19th Annual Tailwagger's Trot on October 12th, 2008 at Lancaster County Park. The sky was blue, the weather was warm, and everyone had a wonderful time. One dog and one kitten from the Humane League were adopted and many new friends were made. The Humane League would like to thank all of the Tailwagger's Trot participants, vendors, sponsors, staff, and volunteers who made this day such a success!
2008 Top Trotter:
Harold Oatman, the 2008 Top Trotter, is
pictured here with wife Bertha, and their dog,
Triscuit. Harold has participated in the
Tailwagger's Trot for many years and has
donated much of his time to raising funds for this
event. This year, Harold raised $6,541.00 for the
Humane League!
Mack says, "Thank you!" 
 "Hey Everybody! Thanks for coming to this year's Tailwagger's Trot. When I first came to the Humane League of Lancaster, I was scared and sad because nobody wanted me. I was also born with a birth defect and I could not use my left front leg. At some shelters, I may not have been given a second chance.
The Humane League is different, though. They are committed to saving as many animals as possible, even dogs with medical problems like me! Because of people like you, who support the shelter through attending events such as the Tailwagger's Trot, the League was able to amputate my leg to give me more mobility and they hooked me up with a really great foster home to stay in while I recovered. Of course, it was only a matter of time before my foster mom fell in love with me and made me part of her family. Now, I love to run around Lancaster County Park, go swimming, and snuggle with my mom and my doggy sisters.
I wouldn't have had a second chance if it weren't for those of you who support the Humane League and make happy endings like mine a reality."
