The Humane League of Lancaster County is a taxpayer supported Lancaster County agency.
FACT: The Humane League of Lancaster County is a completely independent private nonprofit organization and does not receive funding from Lancaster County or the State of Pennsylvania.
Myth #2
All Humane Societies are subsidiaries of the Humane Society of the United States.
FACT: The Humane League of Lancaster County is completely independent and does not receive funding from any national organization, nor do we necessarily maintain the same policies or philosophies.
Myth #3 The Humane League of Lancaster County is a United Way agency.
FACT: The Humane League of Lancaster County is completely independent and is not a United Way agency, however The Humane League of Lancaster County is eligible to receive contributions through the United Way Donor Choice Program.
Myth #4
The Humane League of Lancaster County is financially secure and does not need your support.
FACT: The Humane League of Lancaster County has experienced a severe increase in the number of homeless animals received as well as increased requests for our services. These changes have severely impacted our bottom line particularly because we are still dedicated to providing the highest quality care and services possible for our animals. Now more than ever The Humane League of Lancaster County is in need of financial donations which will enable us to continue providing high quality services to the people and animals of Lancaster County.
As you have probably guessed by now, we are an independent agency. We rely mainly on YOU for our support and continued service to this community.
